77th Annual Leadville Ski Joring Event

The 77th Annual Leadville Ski Joring event is coming up on March 1-2, 2025, bringing an exhilarating mix of tradition and adrenaline to Leadville's historic Harrison Avenue. This thrilling event features skiers being pulled behind horses, racing through a course filled with gates, jumps, and rings. It’s a true test of speed and skill, and spectators won’t want to miss the heart-pounding action. The event begins each day at noon, with a Calcutta Auction kicking things off at 9:00 a.m. on both days. Admission is free, and it’s fun for all ages—just remember that dogs and drones are not allowed.

Leadville Ski Joring has been a part of this mountain town’s history since 1949, making it one of the country’s most renowned competitions of its kind. In addition to the excitement of the Open, Sport, and Snowmobile divisions, kids will have a chance to experience the thrill of Ski Joring behind a snowmobile on Saturday after the main races. The weekend wraps up with an awards ceremony at the Elks Club, and for those looking to compete, registration takes place the night before each day’s event at the Elks Lodge.
