West of 105 Weekender: Events And Happenings In Colorado, Friday Oct. 6th-Thursday Oct. 12th
Hello and happy Friday!
As we approach what is sure to be another awesome weekend West of 105, we're excited to share a smattering of the wealth of events taking place across Colorado between today and next Thursday.
We’ll start with an opportunity in Ridgway to do something good! Tomorrow is the 2023 Unc Watershed Cleanup at Ridgway State Park. From 9 am to noon, the Uncompahgre Watershed Partnership and Colorado Parks & Wildlife have come together to organise a cleanup around the picturesque Ridgway Reservoir. It's a fantastic opportunity to give back to nature while enjoying the breathtaking scenery. Sign up here.
Dracula: A Feminist Revenge Fantasy is a unique take on the classic tale with a feminist twist. It continues this weekend at the Moss Performing Arts Center on the Colorado Mesa University campus in Grand Junction. The play also runs between October 19th-21st.
As ludicrous as it sounds, Ludacris will be performing at the Las Colonias Park Amphitheater in Grand Junction on Sunday.
Also this weekend in Grand Junction is the Downtown Grand Junction Art Festival. Today and tomorrow, the festival will immerse visitors in all kinds of artistic styles with an array of captivating pieces on display.
Comedy in Montrose. Stephanie McHugh will be performing at the Bridges Golf & Country Club tomorrow. An evening of hilarity is all but guaranteed.
Tomorrow at the Center for the Arts in Crested Butte is the US Premiere of "The Land of Giants." Showcasing the world's top skiers conquering incredible conditions, pushing their limits to the very edge and beyond, the film is a tribute to the beauty of the natural world and a testament to the indomitable human spirit. Doors open at 5 pm, and the movie begins at 6 pm.
Tomorrow from 12 pm-3 pm (and again on Wednesday, October 11th from 5:30-8:30 pm) you can create your own spooky ceramic lantern at Abra Karbin Ceramics Studios in Gunnison. Book your spot here.
Over in Salida this weekend (and again on October 13th-15th) from 9 am to 12 pm and 1 pm to 4 pm at the Hutchinson Homestead & Learning Center is the 17th Annual Pumpkin Patch & Harvest Festival. Enjoy wagon rides, free pumpkins, mazes, crafts, live music, and more. Tickets available here.
Chef Biju Thomas at Element 47. Chef Biju Thomas will be taking over the kitchen at Element 47 at the Little Nell in Aspen tomorrow and presenting a tantalizing three-course dinner inspired by India. Expect lamb vindaloo, dal, Kerala fried chicken, and aloo gobi. Reservations are available from 6 - 9 pm.
That's a wrap for this week's West of 105 Weekender newsletter.
